Bring on 2007 !

Because we work in an industry that is supported by people who like to play, we decided to take advantage of the Holiday season and take the week off. The Universal office is shut down from 12 noon Friday, Dec 22nd through New Years Day and returning to work on Tue, Jan. 2nd. There are a few of us that cannot quit bleeding Universal PMS130 yellow and will likely check email at some point during the festivities... but do not expect any response until next year.

Have a safe and fun holiday season from our little family to yours.

The Alessi's having fun

You can call it training or you can call it having fun. Mike and Jeff Alessi rode a lot last week (when do they not ride?) at the 2007 KTM photo shoot and the Motocross Action magazine Industry day.

Joe Bonello had it easy shooting good pics of Mike and Jeff flying side by side at Competitive Edge for all KTM promotional stuff which includes posters, postcards, ads, web material, catalogs, flyers, dealer booklets and wherever else the pics will show. up.

The MXA day was also good fun on the Glenn Helen type track. Awesome lunch and messing about with everyone there. At the end of the week a KTM party wrapped up the year 2006 and all faces are looking ahead at 2007 now. Check them Universal Monocoque stands at the KTM pits when you have a chance.

Busty Wolter survives Poland.

The first IFMXF round in Poland is over. First of all: all my cars, bikes and gear is still in my possesion! Yeah! The track was difficult to ride, since the area was pretty small and the dirt was really wet. That caused a lot of wheelspin for all of the riders, in spite of the metal in the in-runs! After I nearly had two bad crashes because of that I decided that I don’t want to risk my life by going out into more practice sessions. So in the first night I came up with a trickwise pretty solid run (of course, since I had only done 3 tricks in my 1,5 practice sessions before I pulled out). Still I did not do too bad in my opinion. But the judges seem to have had to much Vodka already... I guess this since a couple of their results where ... let’s say: SURPRISING! Anyway, I finished in 9th position and Jimmy Verburgh and mestarted the party early ;-)

For the second night a couple of riders and judges had a meeting about the problems of the first night. We sorted out a few things and judging was much better (as we are used to) for the second night. The exact same run put me in 4th position and the final. In the final I rode clean without risking too much (the track was better, but still not supergood) and I ended up in 4th position.

The upcoming weekend I will ride at the Air & Style in Munich. This should be a nice mix between Snowboarding, FMX and cool bands as Billy Talent and Seeed. After that I hope that the snow in the alps is not melted yet, since I will break in my new Light Boardcorp. Snowboard before I will finish my year by riding at the SuperCrossOver, again in Munich.

Universal MX's first World Championship SX victory

Okay, we admit it. It's probably not our Factory Orange KTM Monocoque stands that helped Martin Davalos post the fastest MX2 lap time at the opening round of the 2007 Amp’d Mobile World SXGP season. But it's nice to be associated with winners and we're glad to be part of the KTM program again for 2007. Next to the factory KTM Red Bull supercross team, MX, Offroad and Supermoto program, you can also find the Orange Universal Monocoque stands on all KTM Junior SX Challenge bikes in 2007. If you ride a KTM and want to feel factory, go to a dealer for one of them stands. Congrats to Martin on the victory and to Zack Osborne for climbing on the podium too. Did you know that the L&M team uses our steer tube nuts and tie-downs? Does that mean we doubled in Toronto?

The Alessi's are having fun at A-stars year-end ride

Last weekend was a special event put on by Alpinestars, which brought together top Alpinestars athletes from multi disciplines. Top riders from motocross, freestyle, skateboarding, jet ski and snowboarding. Kind of like an END OF THE SEASON Christmas PARTY.

The event was held at Starwest, and was hosted by Malcolm Mcassey. Riders enjoyed open riding and a mini bike race. All in all it was a fun get together for all.

Party pics, gotta love 'em

Here are some more photos of the Erwin Robins 2006 MON championship party. The girl is holding some Universal Deuce bars that she won in the raffle. the way she danced with the bars we won't be surprised she will use them for her next performance. Wherever that might be. Bern Buster is about to kill the De Jong brothers in the other photo. He does that every time when he had too much to drink. Good times.

Championship party

Erwin Robin's championship party was a good one. Fans, sponsors, fellow riders, family and friends showed up to celebrate a perfect season that captured the 2006 MON MX1 title.

Erwin himself was enjoying the party but stated that he had already started training for the next season. In 2007 Erwin will hit the tracks with a fat number one on his plate and a golden number one on the back of his jersey. The competition will be strong but Robins said to "Bring it on!"

Congrats once again on 22 victories in a row running the Universal MX parts on the 250cc YZ.
