If you have called into the office at Universal, or received a message through our myspace page, you have probably been in contact with Amanda whether you knew it or not. Amanda does some modeling on the side and as you can see, looks great in a pair of netted stockings. Mike D shows you kids what life in the MX world is all about. Go to school, study hard, and get a job in the motorcycle industry. Click the photo to see a larger than life poster of Amanda in the GT booth at the Interbike Trade show this week in Vegas. If you are a fan of her work, buy yourself a new Monocoque stand and we will have her autograph it for you for an extra $20 that she can use toward a new iPod.
Okay, okay, congrats to Team USA for winning the Motocross des Nations in England. Although they did not win one moto, the team showed consistency which helped them beat the Belgians (2nd) and team New Zealand (3rd).
How many Combo's can you choose from at your favorite fast food restaurant? We've got a fair selection too:
Winning never gets boring. Just ask Erwin Robins and Jarno Verhorevoort. Erwin went to Stein and won both motos for yet another MON win in the MX1 class while Jarno went to St. Isidorushoeve (say that ten times fast!) to score a 1 - 2 finish for first overall. Now you try a set of Universal handlebars and you might win too!
The Universal MX tie-downs are what you need to transport your bike. They'll keep it in place exactly where you want it. You don't want your bike to fall off the back of the pick-up truck or if you use a van to transport your bike to the track, you can't use that dent in the side from tie downs that are slipping. For sure they're a lot cheaper than fixing any of these problems. Get some, you'll love 'em.
At a race that doesn't count for anything, Jarno Verhorevoort raced for the heck of it and keeps his race rhythm going. With more important races still on the program (Open Dutch Championship race in Harfsen on 8 October) Jarno scored a 10 - 6 in Staphorst in a well attended race. On a sidenote, Jarno was asked to test a GasGas bike to see if it was capable enough to make the switch in 2007. For now it isn't but more changes are being made to the bike and another test will follow for the Universal MX rider.
MX races don't always take place in sunny weather. Add some mud to the rain and you will face some rough conditions. Not only you, but your bike as well. That's why the Universal Motocross clamps come with stainless steel bolts. The bolts won't rust and with little maintenance you will be able to work on your clamps for years. To make the bolts even better, they are drilled for safety wiring. Those who have tried to drill those holes themselves probably understand why it's cheaper to just buy these bolts. They look factory too. Hit up your local Universal MX dealer today.
Finally the Imba series made it to a sand track and Universal's Erwin Robins liked that. Going into the race in Heerde Erwin was sitting in 6th in the Imba championships but after winning all three motos in the sand, he moved up to 4th place with one race to go. If he can make it on the podium we'll have to wait and see but we wish him all the best from here.
Mike Alessi rode really well at Glen Helen and scored a solid 2 - 2 finish. This score gives Mike second place in the 2006 AMA Lites series, congrats Mike. If you would park your bike on a Universal Monocoque stand too and let it rest in comfort, maybe you'll pull a holeshot like Mike did next time you line up at the gate. Damn, that's a holeshot!
We've been developing a whole bunch of new Universal Motocross T-shirts. They are looking damn fresh and are of the highest quality. You can choose from the Mud, Mermaid, Scroll, Bolts and Fleur designs in different colours and sizes. They are made in limited edition quantities so you won't look exactly the same as our Universal Fanclub at the next race or FMX event. Hit up your local dealer and tell them to order these quickly, they might be gone before you know it.

Man, it's nice to have a rider on the team that keeps on winning. It's fair to say that Erwin Robins is the fastest rider in the MX1 class. The MON title is still a couple of races away but after a 1-1 score in Overloon, the YZ rider has a lead of 102 points. In moto one Erwin started in second place but that didn't last long. In heat two he grabbed the holeshot and checked out. This weekend another round of the European IMBA series will take place in Heerde, The Netherlands and with a bit of luck Erwin can move up a couple of places in the standings. He's currently sitting in 6th place. Proud of you man!
If you haven't figured it out by now, we'll tell you again. If you own a KTM and want to look factory you gotta park your ride on an orange KTM monocoque stand. Universal sponsors the KTM Red Bull team with riders like Mike and Jeff Alessi and Nate Ramsey and you can even buy our stands online through the official American KTM shop. At the Grand Prix in Lierop, The Netherlands last weekend the 2007 KTM's were displayed on Universal stands through a joint venture with UMX distributor Paul's Boutique and UMX dealer Jan Heusschen. Get yours today by contacting your local Universal dealer. Find the contact list on the website. Go orange.
The Alessi camp expected heavy competition from the Hepler camp in Steel City and for good reason. Broc swept the race (1-1) and left everyone behind, including Mike who finished 5th overall with a 6 - 4 score. The current MX Lites standings look like this:
TNT Offroad is our German distributor and is located in the city center of Berlin, Germany. With the LG Action Sports World Tour in town we grabbed the opportunity to go visit Jens Kloos and Carsten Boehme. Jens was running the show when we showed up as Carsten was at home changing diapers. He just became father of his first child and we would like to say congrats from everyone at Universal MX. TNT have a cool set-up and they distribute a whole bunch of good brands and run a shop downstairs at the same time. If you're in town for whatever reason, stop by because Jens makes some damn fine coffee.
UMX rider Jarno Verhorevoort participated in the Danish round of the Open European CHampionships. After qualifying in 12th in time practice Jarno lined up for the first moto and was ready to battle in the sand. He had a good start and was in fifth going into the race. He stayed in this postion until someone crashed right in front of him which sent him back to 12th. With a few laps to go Jarno managed to fight back to 7th in moto one. His start in moto 2 didn't go as well and he had to start the race mid-pack on his crf450. Jarno passed riders left and right to finish 10th. Combined with his 7th from the first heat he got 8th in the overall standings for the day. Next race will be the last round of the Belgian championships in Pierreux on 10 September.
